Vision, Mission & Values

Our Vision

Takatuf Scholars will return the full value of their learning many times over to their nation, their region and the many communities they will serve in the global knowledge economy of the 21st century. They will be lifelong learners, engaged Omanis and role models of global citizenry in their personal and professional lives.

Our Mission

The Takatuf Scholars Programme will link today’s learning to tomorrow’s success for young Omanis whose commitment is to excellence for their nation and themselves.

Our Values

  • Investing in today’s youth is investing in Oman’s future
  • Through helping students in Grades 11 and 12 build their capacity for effective critical thinking, problem solving, English language proficiency and research skills, we are supporting their success not only as university students but also as lifelong learners, future employees and Omanis capable of engaging the challenges of the nation in a global knowledge economy
  • Takatuf Scholars will be lifelong and continuous learners who are able to take effective and ethical advantage of all sources of knowledge – academic, theoretical, practical, applied, virtual and experiential – and put it to good use for all
  • The learning competencies, skills and abilities of the Takatuf Scholars will be their employability tools for the 21st Century:
  • Learning is continuous – Takatuf Scholars will graduate from university with the ability to learn, and the knowledge that learning must be continuous and include theory, practice and application;
  • Learning is lifelong – Takatuf scholars will understand that new knowledge and technology lead to innovation, adaptation and transformation of the workplace, processes and products;
  • Learning is linked to application – Takatuf scholars will be aware that this process is diverse, socially conscious, and ethically driven.
  • The undergraduate degree, where students are honing their intellectual skills and abilities, forming their world view, and building their social capital, is a critical experience leading to future success and engagement in family, community and society.
